It’s a struggle we all face, whether we admit it or not: comparing ourselves to others. We look at someone else’s life and their “issues” seem so much smaller than our own. We think, “If God really cared about me, my life would look more like theirs.”
This is a dangerous mindset and a lie that the evil one loves to use. Comparing is the chief killer of contentment. Christ wants you to be confident and content in who you are and what He has done for you. But as soon as we start looking to the right or left, we lose our footing. We start to believe that our value is based on what we have, what we’ve done, or what we’re going through, rather than on who God is.
God doesn’t want us to look horizontally at what others have or what we lack. He wants us to look heavenward, focusing on His nature and the incredible things He has already done for us. When you feel the urge to compare, take a moment to look up and remember that your true worth is not found in what you see around you, but in the truth of who you are in Him.
Our King- Doesn’t Want You Looking to the Right or Left….only to HIM!
"Comparing Is the Chief Killer of Contentment."
